Charlton Wildcats Travel Basketball Contract

Player & Parent Agreement – 2025–2026 Season

Town Rec League Participation

All travel players in grades 4–6 must participate in the town recreational league to support its growth, unless they make a CMS or another middle school team.

Team Fee

• Season Fee: $220

• Discount: $25 for players who also participate in the town rec league (final cost: $195)

Fee covers: gym rentals, referees, league costs, game balls, coaching film review system, and other miscellaneous team expenses. Fees have been stable since 2020 and will only increase if absolutely necessary.

Uniforms

Uniforms are not included in the team fee. Please order as soon as possible to ensure your player has a uniform before the season begins.

• New players: Wait for coach-assigned jersey number before ordering

Travel Basketball Commitment

• Playing time is not guaranteed for any player

• By accepting a roster spot, you agree to:

  • Prioritize Charlton Travel Basketball over other sports (Dec–Mar)

  • Support the team’s goals through commitment, effort, and teamwork, regardless of playing time

Code of Conduct (Players & Parents)

• Absolutely no yelling at referees

• Parents must not coach from the sidelines; allow coaches to coach

• No arguing with coaches during or after games

• 24-Hour Rule: Wait 24 hours before addressing any issue to ensure productive communication

• Contact Charlton Wildcats Directors if problems persist

Violations may result in removal from practices, games, or the program.

Season Information

• Practices: Late Oct / Early Nov (random), Dec regular schedule begins

• Coaches will provide team-specific schedules

• Recording Games: Highlights may be posted to Facebook, YouTube, Instagram. Opt-out available via email

• Registration: Personalized link will be sent by Nov 15

Competitive Program

Our goal is to field competitive teams while also preparing players for the next level of competition.

• Rosters are dynamic from season to season; players may move between teams or be cut. Tryouts are held to ensure each team is competitive and to give players the opportunity to grow, improve, and earn the spot that best fits their skills. This provides a realistic experience of competitive basketball, teaches players to rise to challenges, and fosters growth on and off the court.

• All roster decisions are made with team and program goals in mind. Occasionally, players or coaches may be moved between teams to best align talent, team fit, and player development.

• Players are encouraged to work hard, support their teammates, and focus on skill growth while contributing to their team’s success.

Please read this contract with your player to ensure they understand expectations.

• To accept a roster spot, select “Accept” in the drop-down menu in your registration form

• Selecting “Decline” will forfeit the roster spot

By selecting “Accept”, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to all terms outlined above, including: participation, fees, uniforms, travel commitment, code of conduct, season schedule, and program goals.
