Please complete this form to register your child for tryouts for the Charlton Wildcats travel basketball program.
Registering for tryouts does not guarantee a spot on a team. Wildcats is a competitive travel program, roster spots are limited, and cuts may be necessary.
This registration is for Wildcats tryouts only. It does NOT register your child for the Recreational basketball program. Recreational basketball is a separate program, and registration will open later in the year.
Please double-check the email address you enter when registering. Email is our primary method of communication for tryout information, schedule updates, changes, and team-selection notifications.
TRYOUT INFORMATION
Tryout Attendance
Players must attend at least one tryout to be eligible for consideration for a Wildcats team. We strongly recommend attending both tryouts whenever possible. Evaluations can be competitive, and attending both gives coaches the best opportunity to evaluate each player.
We understand that fall sports and other activities can create scheduling conflicts. Unfortunately, we cannot adjust scheduled tryout dates or times around individual conflicts. Tryouts need to be completed on schedule so teams can be selected, uniforms ordered, and preparations made for the upcoming season.
4th Grade Boys
The 4th Grade Boys team is intended for 4th-grade players. We historically have had enough 4th-grade boys to fill the roster, so 3rd graders will not be selected over an eligible 4th grader. Tryouts will only be opened to 3rd-grade boys if additional players are needed to field the team.
5th Grade Girls / 4th Grade Girls
Fourth-grade girls are welcome to try out for the 5th Grade Girls team. There is no 4th grade girls division.
Roster availability for 4th graders will depend on the number of 5th-grade players participating. If there are enough 5th graders to fill the team, roster spots will remain with the 5th-grade age group. A 5th grader will not be cut in favor of a 4th grader.
If additional roster spots are available, 4th graders may be selected to fill those positions.
Because a 4th-grade player must participate in tryouts to be considered if a spot becomes available, interested 4th graders should still register for tryouts. If registration numbers make it clear beforehand that there will not be availability for 4th graders, we will communicate that before tryouts whenever possible.
7th Grade Girls
We are especially looking to grow our 7th Grade Girls team this season. If you have a 7th-grade girl who is considering travel basketball, please register and come out for tryouts. We would like to see as many interested players as possible.
PARTICIPATION WAIVER
By submitting this form, I, the parent/guardian of the registrant, a minor, give my permission for them to participate in the Charlton Wildcats program.
I recognize the possibility of physical injury associated with basketball and hereby release, discharge, and/or otherwise indemnify Charlton Wildcats, Charlton Youth Basketball, its sponsors, volunteers and associated personnel, as well as the owners and operators of facilities used by the program, against any claim by or on behalf of the registrant resulting from participation in the basketball program.
I declare that the registrant is in good health and able to participate in physical activity.
